Wellness, Flourishing, and Transformation

This relaxation exercise was an escape for me; escape of the many things going on in my mind. It was similar to a "mini" mental vacation. During this time, I only had to focus on the soothing music and voice coming from the speakers of my computer.

As the relaxation went on, my hands felt heavy and hot. I was laying on the couch and literally felt as if I were one with the couch. I could feel and visualize the blood in my body flowing from my stomach to my shoulders and hands. Wow, at this point I really felt as if I could not raise my hands or move. However as I commanded the blood to return to my stomach, I could feel my hands cool and they were not so heavy.

I wanted to yawn at this point but was so relaxed that I could not find the energy to do so. Then the voice said I should tell myself that I was energized, but honestly, I just wanted to lye there and be still for a change. After the voice stopped talking, I felt as if I could hear my heart beat. I am not sure how long I was on the couch beyond this point, but I know that I felt too peaceful to move.

I really enjoyed this exercise and feel as if I make this a habit, the psychological, spiritual, and physiological benefits will be to show.
